Exercising during pregnancy

When a you are pregnant the last thing on your mind is exercising. You will be thinking about how your life and body is changing. But it is important that you still exercise while you are pregnant. You should realize that you can not workout the way you did before you were pregnant. If you were not exercising or werent in good health before you got pregnant it is best to seek medical advice to help you through your pregnancy. If you are healthy and fit you will have less problems when giving birth.
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, it is important that the types of exercise done during these times are appropriate.
During the first trimester you should get as much rest as possible. Stress will harm the you and the developing child, so the more relaxed you are the better. Even though at this time the you are really tired and needs rest you should still exercise. Workout ateast a few times a week and do not stress on the stomach as this may cause you to miscarry. Mainly do light exercises during this time.
In the second trimester you will notice that you are growing larger. This is a time where you should watch your blood pressure. You can swim, ride a bike but the best thing is to walk. Swimming requires your full body movement and other exercises may require balance that might be more difficult. Walking is the best exercise you can do the entire time you are pregnant. Understand that you will not be able to wear your compression shorts.
The third trimester you will gain a few pounds in weight. With gaining weight it can be much more difficult to exercise. During the last month of your pregnancy you should focus on resting and taking care of yourself to prepare for the birth.
It is important that you stay as fit as possible during your pregnancy for you and the child.
