Stretching Exercises- A Humble Beginning to Strenuous Exercise Routine

Stretching exercises are extremely important for women of all ages, especially for those who are over 25 years of age. It is important to understand that the body needs to be warmed up prior to any type of rigorous exercise routine. As a rule of thumb, stretching exercises should be done at least for 5 to 7 minutes to get maximum benefits of your entire exercise routine.

Purpose of stretching

The main purpose of stretching exercises is to improve the flexibility of the body and prepare it for more strenuous exercises. The muscles are kept supple and the overall coordination of the body is increased. The blood flow of the body improves due to an increase in the heart rate and the average body temperature. Moreover, the range of motion of joints is increased by a great deal.

Correct way to stretch

The right way is to stretch slowly without overdoing anything. Remember that you should not bounce at any stage of stretching as it may result in muscle pulls. Experts advice to stretch to the level of your own comfort without overstretching yourself. You need to hold each stretch for about 15 seconds and repeat at least a couple of times.

Cool Down after exercising

A cool down is a must once the exercise routine has been completed. It is important to cool down after these burlesque lessons by walking slowly and stretching some more. This is essential to ensure that your heart beat returns to normal and the blood pressure is the same as it was prior to exercising.
